Individual psychotherapeutic counselling

Online and in-person in North Somerset

I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor, providing a non-judgemental, warm space to support individuals across the UK. I offer in-person sessions in Wrington (close to Bristol and Weston-super-Mare), or online sessions for anyone in the UK.

My approach is integrative, which means I use different techniques and approaches to best suit the person in front of me. I sit on a person centered basis, and use a lot of psychodynamic work to explore the root of what's causing difficulties, and how your life experiences have impacted your present. I bring in other techniques such as CBT, motivational interviewing, REBT and various humanistic approaches when it's useful.

I work with a range of difficulties, and help the person in front of me to untangle what's going on, to learn about themselves, and to support someone with whatever difficulties they are facing. I often work with people who have experienced trauma, and may be facing things such as people-pleasing, feelings of guilt and shame, chronic anxiety, and difficulty regulating emotions. I also specialise in working with autistic adults and have a range of adaptations and techniques that I use when working with neurodivergent individuals.

What is counselling?

Counselling is a talking therapy, providing a warm, non-judgemental space to talk about your thoughts and feelings. It can help you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and why things might be difficult. Counselling can provide a safe space to share things in a confidential setting, with someone who is not directly involved in your life.

People come to therapy for lots of different reasons, but you are not alone in whatever you are facing. Some reasons people seek counselling are:

• Anxiety

• Low mood

• Trauma

• Grief

• Relationships

• Baby loss

• Suicidal thoughts

• Self-worth

• Confidence

• Guilt

• Managing being neurodivergent

• Abuse

• Anger

• Managing emotions

• People pleasing

• Medical trauma

• Health conditions

These are just some examples. Lots of patterns of behaviour were once useful to us, or were how we survived. When our circumstances change, these can change or feel more problematic. It's never too late to reach out for help. Whatever you are facing, get in touch to see if I can help.

Free 15-minute chat

What to expect

1. Get in touch via the contact page to arrange an optional free 15 minute call to see if we are the right fit for each other. There is absolutely no pressure to go ahead with sessions after the call, it's so important to find the right fit for something so personal and important! If you would prefer to not have a call (I know not everyone likes talking on the phone!) then just send me a message and we can have a chat over messages or just arrange a meeting.

2. If you would like to, we can book in our first session, either in person in BS40, or online. If I do not have any space at a mutually convenient time, it is possible to go on a waiting list, and I will get in touch when a space becomes avaliable.

3. If you would lile to, we continue our sessions weekly. Each session is 50 minutes and costs £50.

4. We continually review how things are going, and sessions can end any time you like.
